We manufacture most replacement sign faces with polycarbonate as polycarbonate is 3-5 times stronger that the equivalent thickness of acrylic. Even though acrylic is cheaper to make, its far more fragile.

There are benefits to acrylic though. Acrylic does stay whiter over time. If the sign face is small, we can make it from acrylic for you, but if it is larger than 4’x8’, it will always be polycarbonate.

We offer both. Translucent film will always be more vibrant and color accurate, but there are limitations to color selection.

We use 3M, Avery, Arlon and Oracal film in order to offer the widest range of color selection you can get.

We print on 3M or Avery translucent vinyl if you really want to have that custom color we can’t get made. We can also direct print to polycarbonate and acrylic with vibrant results.

Hanging strips are needed for any sign face larger than 2’ tall or when sign faces are longer than 6’ wide. They are needed to keep the sign face in place when wind pushes on the plastic and deforms it. If it flexes enough, it could pop out of the retainer if you don’t have hanging strips. We supply all of our replacement faces with hanging strips unless your sign cabinet is made without proper retainers or is small enough.
