Channel letters are simply dimensional letters that light up in some way. The name ‘channel’ comes from the idea that the letter returns are channels that hold the light source in place between the two sides of the letter stroke. The only thing you need to know is that these are called ‘channel letters’.

We make channel letters that are illuminated through the face, these are the most common type of letter.

We also make halo lit channel letters that illuminated through the back of the letter and light up the wall with a halo look around each letter. These are a little less common and they do look amazing, but they can often be more difficult to read, all depending on your font.

We build channel letters for businesses for all brands, and often, the channel letters are manufactured and shipped or installed as individual letters. This usually happens if the wall is in great shape, the surface is smooth and finished and set up to allow for individual letters to be mounted to it. Individual letters require the wiring to be done through wall for each letter, with 12v or 24v power going through the wall surface to connect to a power supply on the inside.

Channel letters always need to have CSA certification to comply with electrical regulations in all municipalities. We make sure that all of our letters are compliant, safe and well built. These letters are designed to last!

First off, a raceway is a painted sheet metal or aluminum trough that channel letters are often mounted to.

This allows all of the low volt wiring to be contained inside the box, requiring only one electrical connection to the building.

There are many reasons to have your letters mounted to a raceway; including ease of installation, lack of space for electrical access behind the wall being mounted to, and even structural requirements.
