Yes, all channel letters, if they are illuminated, need to be CSA certified. The CSA certification involves a testing procedure to ensure that the letters are electrically sound and safe and they are built to standards.

Most of these letters do not get attached to raceways for two reasons.

First, the letter is a halo lit type of letter and raceways to not provide enough surface area to properly display the halo effect of the letter.

The second reason is that the raceways are not designed to be as durable as these letters.

We can, however, make backer panels for these type of letters to allow for full coverage halo appearance and have the backer be as strong as the letters (with the corresponding heavy weight build) if that is what you need.
